End of April likes and dislikes

Liking:

  • Services with well documented RESTful APIs!
  • LINQ to XML
  • Using LINQ to XML alongside Services with well documented RESTful APIs!
  • NZ's Prime News. Half an hour for the news is all that's needed. I really don't need a live linkup from a spot where something semi-interesting happened 10 hours earlier in order to take in the details of a 1 minute story, thanks.
  • The thought of upgrading to a couple of these for my main rig. Mmmm.
  • Developing @ 2560*1600.

 

Not Liking:

  • That the current release of ReSharper isn't yet updated for the 3.5 framework. I'm seriously considering trying one of the EAP builds.. if someone could convince me that they're stable enough.

I and and our team have been using the EAP. Its getting pretty stable now and you should use them. Just pick the latest without the "Does not work" :)

And we are coming back in August :)

Adding Tooltips to Gridview Headers

As the title says, this is a very simple but dynamic way of achieving tooltip text on a header column. It's not overly flash, but it's lightweight and quick to implement.
