A couple of quick links I’ve meant to post up for a couple of days, as much for my own reference.
LINQ to SQL changes in .NET 4.0 – Damien Guard posts a list of upcoming features and fixes, which is much welcomed even though it confuses the whole “LINQ to SQL is dead” issue. I’m still using LINQ to SQL for Data Access in some smaller projects, so it’s nice to see that it’s getting some update attention. Longer term, who knows?
Sticking with the LINQ to SQL theme, I hadn’t seen PLINQO before. Might be worth checking out if you’re a fan of CodeSmith. Something I hadn’t realised before is that the LLBLGenPro designer also allows you to target and generate for LINQ to SQL, which is something well worth checking out.
As a side note, I found this multi tier architecture project for LINQ to SQL on Codeplex incredibly useful – something similar to this for LLBLGenPro would save a lot of time, as at the moment I seem to end up hand writing a fair amount of similar classes and methods in my DAL. GetById, GetAll, etc. Anyone seen something like this?
