Notes/Domino Application Review for Upgrading to Version 8.5.x

Application Review for Upgrading to Version 8.5.x – it’s pretty short, which is a good thing.

I do think it’s kind of funny trying to sneak subconscious messages in there trying to remind “some” developers that Option Declare is good, but I guess when it comes to teaching best practice you have to do whatever works. If that means telling people that by not using Option Declare they may die them in their sleep, then so be it.

I concur with you. I think we also need to drastically reduce the usage of the Declarations section.

Declarations section should be used for constants/Class Definitions only. Any other use of it is pure laziness.

After spending a year cleaning up some of the worst code I have ever seen... here are my three pet peeves:

    1) All variables declared in the declarations sections (declare once, write forever!)

    2) Option Declare not enabled

    3) Gosub

bonus #4) Error checking = Resume Next
