Does desktop minimalism drive productivity? I think it depends on the person. A nice clean workspace can feel pretty good, but some people just don’t care and it doesn’t affect them. Also if you’re spending a lot of time stressing over having a tidy workspace, then that’s certainly not going to be helping your productivity.
Having said that, my Windows/OSX switching setup at the moment is terrible, and it’s *really* affecting my productivity – however that’s less about a messy desktop and more about needing a decent way of cutting down on keyboards.
